Acrylic door panels are composed of four materials:

I. Surface Material
The commonly mentioned transparent acrylic (Acrylic, i.e., organic glass) and environmentally friendly ABS material. Among them, transparent acrylic has the transparency like crystal, with a transmittance as high as 92%. Therefore, it is known as "plastic crystal". It has excellent weather resistance and gloss. Methyl methacrylate (PMMA) is often used as a substitute for glass. Both physically and chemically, PMMA is superior to glass.

II. Substrate: E0-grade moisture-proof particleboard/core board/MDF (medium-density fiberboard)/plywood/foam board, etc.

III. Edge Material: 1.2 mm acrylic surface material strips/roll-type edge banding strips.

IV. Back Material: 0.8 mm white granular-surfaced environmentally friendly ABS or the same color as the surface material.

The Characteristics and Differences between Acrylic and Glass

1. The density of PMMA is approximately 1150 - 1190 kg/m³, which is half that of glass (2400 - 2800 kg/m³).
2. PMMA is relatively light in weight: With the same size of material, the weight of PMMA is only half that of ordinary glass and about 43% of that of aluminum (a light metal).
3. PMMA has relatively high mechanical strength: The relative molecular mass of organic glass is approximately 2 million. It is a long-chain polymer compound. Its tensile and impact resistance capabilities are 7 - 18 times higher than those of ordinary glass. Therefore, the stretched organic glass can be used as bulletproof glass and also as the canopy of military aircraft.
4. PMMA has a relatively low melting point: The melting point of PMMA is about 240 - 250 °C, much lower than the high temperature of about 1000 °C for glass.
5. PMMA has a relatively high light transmittance for visible light: PMMA is currently the best polymer transparent material, with a light transmittance of 92%, higher than that of glass.

Characteristics of Acrylic

1. Excellent transparency: It is colorless and transparent, with a light transmittance of over 92%.
2. Superior weather resistance: It has a strong adaptability to the natural environment. According to the acrylic quality inspection standards, even after being exposed to sunlight, wind, and rain for a long time, its performance will not change, and it has good anti-aging properties, so it can be safely used outdoors.
3. Good processing performance: It is suitable for both mechanical processing and hot forming. Acrylic sheets can be dyed, and their surfaces can be treated by spray painting, screen printing, or vacuum coating.
4. Outstanding comprehensive properties: Acrylic sheets come in a wide variety of types and rich colors, and possess extremely excellent comprehensive properties, providing designers with diverse choices.
5.Non-toxic: It is harmless even with long-term contact with humans, and no toxic gases are produced during combustion.
Applications of Acrylic
1. Building material applications: kitchen cabinet panels (bottom boards, edge strips), indoor room door panels, partition boards, decorative boards, wardrobe boards, shelves, wine cabinets, etc.
2. Architectural applications: shop windows, soundproof doors and windows, daylighting covers, telephone booths, etc.
3. Advertising applications: light boxes, signs, indicator boards, display racks, etc.
4. Transportation applications: vehicle doors and windows of trains, cars for beauty purposes, etc.
5. Medical applications: baby incubators, various surgical medical instruments, civilian products, sanitary facilities, handicrafts, cosmetics, brackets, aquariums, etc.
6. Industrial applications: instrument surface panels and protective covers, etc.
7. Lighting applications: LED lights, chandeliers, street lamp shades, etc.
